  • Moody Pond Challenge: Online Auction

Friends of Moody Pond has reached the half-way mark of this year’s ‘Foil the Milfoil: The Moody Pond Challenge.’ The annual fundraising event began on July 10th and continues through August 7th and inspires members of the community to support the efforts of protecting and preserving our beloved pond through donations and/or registering a team for the challenge that encourages participants to set a donation goal around the activity of their choice. A challenge can be any activity such as walking, running, biking, paddling, reading, knitting, etc. that encourages others to join you as a team or sponsor you to complete your challenge within the given timeframe. The intent is to provide an educational and fun event for all ages in our community. It’s a spirited opportunity, that brings the Saranac Lake community together through a shared affection for the nature of Moody Pond, and the health and recreational benefits it provides to so many. To donate, register a team, or learn more about this year’s challenge visit: In tandem with the month-long ‘Foil The Milfoil: The Moody Pond Challenge', the Friends of Moody Pond are also hosting a virtual silent auction featuring local activities, stays, and experiences including a two-night stay at the Hotel Saranac and a gift certificate to the Fiddlehead Bistro. The silent auction is live now and will conclude on August 7th at 'The Moody Pond Challenge: Ice Cream Social', on Moody Pond, 401 Forest Hill Ave., Saranac Lake, 11am – 2pm. *RAIN DATE: August 8 - same time and place.
