OSHA 10-Hour General Construction Safety Training
This class will provide workers with awareness of common job-related safety and health hazards as well as information about their rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint as well as how to identify, abate, avoid and prevent job related hazards on a job site.
Dates: March 12th & 13th
Time: 9am-4:30pm (1st day), 9am-12:30pm (2nd day)
Location: Saranac Lake Free Library, 109 Main St, Cantwell Room (side door, lower level)
Registration: Free, registration required
Topics that may include in class:
• Introduction to OSHA
• Focus Four Hazards-including: Fall Protection, Electrical, Struck By, Caught in/Between
• Personal Protective and Life Saving Equipment
• Health Hazards in Construction-including: Haz-Com and Silica
• Fall Protection
• Materials Handling, Storage, Use and Disposal
• Stairways and Ladders
This class is led by Phil Hamel, owner of Adirondack Safety and Environmental Services LLC. Phil has over 26 years’ experience at FCI Ray Brook in safety, fire and environmental field culminating as the Environmental and Safety Compliance Administrator. In this role he dealt with manufacturing, construction, maintenance, health care and food service operations. His services include OSHA 10 General Industry Construction Training courses.
